Principal Welcome

Welcome to Southport Elementary! We are a public school in the amazing community of Southport, Florida, we currently have around 450 wonderful Pre-K through 5th grade students. Southport is a strong community and we take pride in being a true community school. Our mission statement follows: "Southport Elementary School is committed to creating a safe learning environment which maximizes every student’s potential in a setting where excellence in academics and the arts is accomplished by emphasizing patriotism and character development of the individual in a school culture of respect and civility."

For us, this means we’re committed to implementing evidence-based practices to support all students in reaching their maximum potential, academically and behaviorally. We meet monthly to monitor students’ academic performance and well-being, and we provide supports as soon as needed. We provide character education through the Pledge of Allegiance and our Eagle Pride Expectations (Keeping the Promise). Our Vision: "Our vision is to empower and strengthen each child in body, mind and spirit to prepare them to influence this community’s future and become key contributors, leaders, and exemplary global citizens in the 21 st century."

We are proud to be Southport Elementary Eagles, and remind ourselves each day what it means to Keep the Promise: Strong in Body: I will be the boss of my body and keep hands and feet under control. I will take turns. Strong in Mind: I will come to school ready to Look, Listen, Think and Learn! Strong in Spirit: I will be kind-hearted. Thank you for being an Eagle!
